Queensland has always done things a bit differently. Major fluctuating weather events batter our regions and green energy transitions aiming to reduce the consequences of climate change may negatively impact the communities and livelihoods in those same regions.

We’ve got the highest youth detention rate in the country but are being promised upwards of $8.1 billion dollars in social and economic value from the (rapidly approaching) Brisbane Olympic games.

We're a huge state too with the need to service a range of urban, regional, remote and very remote communities.

This leaves us with the question of: What does social value actually look like in Queensland? Further, how can measurement and data help us to know if we’re getting what we need?

Bring yourself, a problem, and your thoughts!

We look forward to seeing you there,

SIMNA Queensland Organising Committee
